‘Forrest of the Royal Tomb’”
Seooreung, meaning ‘the tomb of five in the west,’ is the second largest tomb of the Joseon Dynasty after Donggureung in Guri. Starting with the construction of the royal tomb of Crown Prince Uigyeong (Chujon Deokjong), the eldest son of King Sejo, the Changneung tomb of King Yejong, Sunchangwon for Crown Prince Tour, Ikneung tomb of Queen Ingyeong, Myeongneung tomb of King Sukjong, and Hongneung tomb of Queen Jeongseong were built. Then, in the 1970s, Sugyeongwon of the Yeongbin Lee clan and the tomb of the Oksanbudaebin Jang clan were moved to this place to become the present Seooreung.

- A. Changneung (昌陵)
- Form of Tomb : Dongwon Yi Gangneung
- Formation of the Tomb : 1470 (1st year of King Seongjong), 1499 (5th year of Yeonsan-gun)
- Changneung is the tomb of King Yejong, the 8th king of Joseon and Queen Ansun, the second queen of King Yejong. When viewed from the front of Jeongjagak, the left hill (west) is the tomb of Yejong, and the right hill (east) is the tomb of Queen Ansun. When his older brother Crown Prince Uigyeong (Chujon Deokjong) passed away early, Yejong was appointed Crown Prince and ascended the throne in 1468.
- B. Gyeongneung (敬陵)
- Form of tomb : Dongwon Yi Gangneung
- Formation of the Tomb : 1457 (3rd year of King Sejo), 1504 (10th year of Yeonsan-gun)
- Gyeongneung is the tomb of King Deokjong and Queen Sohye Han. When viewed from the front of Jeongjagak, the right hill (west) is Deokjong, and the left hill (east) is the tomb of Queen Sohye. Deokjong died at the age of 20 and was first called Crown Prince Uigyeong, and when his son Seongjong ascended to the throne, he was revered as Deokjong.
- C. Myeongneung (明陵)
- Form of Tomb : Ssangneung and Danneung built as Dongwon Yi Gangneung
- Formation of Tombs : 1701 (27th year of King Sukjong), 1720 (the accession of King Gyeongjong), 1757 (33rd year of Yeongjo)
- Myeongneung is the tomb of King Sukjong, the 19th king of the Joseon Dynasty, Queen Inhyeon, the second queen of King Sukjong, Min, and Queen In-hyeon Kim, the third queen of King Sukjong. When viewed from the front of Jeongjagak, the hill on the right is the twin tombs of King Sukjong and Queen Inhyeon, and the hill on the left is the tomb of Queen In-hyeon. King Sukjong ascended to the throne at the age of 14 and strengthened his royal authority through the return of the kingdom (reLocationment of government), and promoted commerce by distributing Sangacreage Tongbo. In addition, the border with the Qing dynasty was established and the Paektu Mountain Jeonggye Monument was erected.
- D. Ikneung (翼陵)

- Formation of the Tomb : 1681 (7th year of King Sukjong)
- Ikneung is the tomb of Queen Ingyeong, the first queen of King Sukjong, the 19th king of the Joseon Dynasty. Queen Ingyeong was appointed Crown Princess at the age of 11, and when King Sukjong ascended to the throne, she became queen.
- E. Hongneung (弘陵)
- Form of Tomb : Danneung
- Formation of The Tomb : 1757 (Yeongjo 33)
- Hongneung is the tomb of Queen Jeongseong Seo, the first queen of King Yeongjo, the 21st king of the Joseon Dynasty. Queen Jeongseong was the longest queen in the history of the Joseon Dynasty (33 years). Yeongjo prepared his own tomb site in advance while constructing Hongneung, but after Yeongjo's death, the tomb site was determined as the current Wonneung in Donggureung, and the site of Yeongjo's tomb remains empty even now.
- f. Sunchangwon (順昌園)

- Formation of The Original Garden : 1563 (18th year of King Myeongjong), 1870 (7th year of King Gojong)
- Sunchangwon is the ancestral home of Crown Prince Soon Hoe, son of Myeongjong, the 13th king of the Joseon Dynasty, and Gonghoebin Yun. Crown Prince Soon Hoe passed away at the young age of 13 and was unable to ascend to the throne.
- S. Sugyeongwon (綏慶園)

- Formation of The Original Garden : 1764 (Yeongjo 40), 1899 (Gwangmu 3), 1970
- Sugyeongwon is the concubine of King Yeongjo, the 21st king of the Joseon Dynasty, and the birth mother of King Chujon Jangjo (Prince Sado). After the proclamation of the Korean Empire in 1897, when Crown Prince Sado was honored as emperor, the tomb was named Sugyeongwon to match the status of the birth mother of Emperor Yeongbindo.
- T. Daebin's tomb (大嬪墓)
- Form of Tomb : single burial
- Formation of The Tomb : 1702 (28th year of King Sukjong), 1719 (45th year of King Sukjong)
- Daebin's tomb is the tomb of Oksanbu Daebin Jang, the concubine of King Sukjong, the 19th ruler of the Joseon Dynasty, and the birth mother of King Gyeongjong in his 20s. Oksan Budaebin gave birth to Gyeongjong, the first son of King Sukjong, and was called as Heebin. After Gyeongjong ascended to the throne, he was revered as Oksan Budaebin.
